San Francisco, CA (November 5, 2025) – This holiday season, the Presidio of San Francisco transforms into a wonderland of lights, culture, and cozy escapes. Whether you’re seeking a joyful family outing, a romantic winter staycation, or a place to gather with friends, the Presidio offers countless ways to celebrate the season surrounded by nature, history, and breathtaking Golden Gate views.

Even as the days grow shorter, the Presidio’s mild winter climate and stunning open spaces invite visitors to explore, play, reconnect outdoors, or stay warm inside one of the park’s welcoming indoor venues.

Outdoor and Indoor Adventures

At the heart of the park, Presidio Tunnel Tops glows with seasonal charm. Families can join hands-on ecology activities at the Field Station, where winter-themed Explorer Backpacks spark curiosity about the wonders of nature. Nearby, the Outpost Meadow offers reservable picnic spaces beside the Bay Area’s largest nature playground—the perfect spot for group gatherings and playdates.

Around the park, adventure abounds on 25 miles of scenic coastal and forest trails ideal for hiking, biking, and birdwatching. Self-guided itineraries and programs help visitors uncover hidden corners of the park, from stargazing and geocaching to art and history walks. The historic Presidio Golf Course is open for public play, any day.

Prefer indoor fun? The Presidio has it all. Bowl with friends at Presidio Bowl, climb at Movement Gym, or unwind with yoga or a rejuvenating visit to SenSpa. From adrenaline to relaxation, there’s recreation for every season and every age.

About the Presidio + Presidio Trust

The Presidio is one of America’s most visited national park sites, located within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Spanning 1,500 acres next to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the Presidio is among the most biologically diverse parks in America. Historically a home to native peoples and a military post under three flags, its facilities have been reinvented as museums, restaurants, hotels, homes, and offices. The Presidio Trust is the federal agency that stewards the Presidio, in partnership with the National Park Service and with support from the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. The Trust sustains the Presidio by leasing homes and workplaces and offering visitor amenities. Learn more at presidio.gov.
