Walk, run, or bike with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Crissy Marsh.
Connecting the Marina Gate to Fort Point, the Golden Gate Promenade is the northern part of the regional Bay Trail SF.
People love it for its experience of Crissy Field, a former Army-airfield-turned-outdoor-recreation-paradise with endless opportunities for beauty and fun.
You can have a picnic at both ends – Crissy Field East Beach or the West Bluffs. In between, be sure to explore Crissy Marsh, the reclaimed tidal wetland that attracts birds migrating on the Pacific Flyway. The surrounding dunes are planted with coastal scrub that provides a beautiful springtime carpet of flowers.
If you have kids, play in the sand at the Crissy Field beaches or walk across the street to explore the Outpost playground at Presidio Tunnel Tops.
And if you’re a history buff, cap your walk with a visit to Fort Point beneath the Golden Gate Bridge.
Find restrooms at Crissy Field East Beach, the Outpost playground, and the Warming Hut Park Store. Food is at Presidio Pop Up and the Warming Hut.
