Parking in the Presidio

One of our main goals is to protect the park’s environment. When people carpool, bike, walk, or take public transit to the park, they reduce pollution. It also means there are fewer cars in the park, and we need less space for paved parking lots. In short, more parklands and less parking.

Charging for parking encourages everyone to consider ways to get here besides driving alone. And any money we earn from our parking program helps us run the Presidio and offer services such as the free Presidio GO Shuttle. We’re grateful for everyone’s support.

Parking fees are paid to the Presidio Trust and are used to run and maintain the park. This includes things like improving landscapes, maintaining roads and bike lanes, and operating the free Presidio GO Shuttle.

The Presidio’s parking contractor, ACE Parking issues parking violations to vehicles that have not purchased parking or have exceeded time limits. U.S. Park Police enforces other parking violations, such as parking in a bus zone, red curb, or accessible parking space without a placard.

If you received a parking violation from ACE Parking, you can pay online at presidio.rmcpay.com. Payments are not accepted by mail or in person. You can look up your parking violation online at presidio.rmcpay.com using your violation number or license plate number. Unpaid fees are subject to automatic increases after 30 and 45 calendar days.

You can dispute your parking violation fee online at presidio.rmcpay.com. Disputes must be submitted within 14 calendar days of issuance of a parking violation. Disputes are not accepted by mail, phone, email, or in person.
