What to Expect at This Event

In honor of 200 years of shared history between the United States and Peru, this festival showcases the vibrant rhythms, dance, and cuisine that define Peru’s diverse regions – from the heart of the Andes, to the lush Amazon jungle, to the Pacific coast, bringing the spirit of Peru to the city of San Francisco.

Performances include:

  • Traditional Folkloric Dances: Witness the elegance of the Marinera (Coast), the high-energy Huaylas (Andean Highlands), and the vibrant movements of the Sierra y Selva (Amazonian region).
  • Salsa Orchestras: High-energy orchestras will provide a soundtrack of tropical rhythms that reflect the diversity of Peru’s coastal cities.
  • Drum Circle featuring the cajon, an Afro-Peruvian instrument that has had global impact.

Festival Highlights

  • Main Stage Performances: A vibrant lineup of music and dance celebrating the rhythms of Peru, with performances the whole family can enjoy.
  • Artisanal Marketplace: Explore handcrafted textiles, jewelry, and goods from local Peruvian artisans and master crafters.
  • Authentic Gastronomy: Experience the world-renowned flavors of Peru with traditional dishes
  • Cultural Education & Immersion: Interactive exhibits, educational displays, and live demonstrations celebrating Peruvian heritage and 200 years of shared history between the United States and Peru.
