Goldsworthy in the Presidio

Discover Andy Goldsworthy’s Presidio works, where art meets nature across four installations in a unique landscape of city and wilderness.

Renowned artist Andy Goldsworthy first visited the Presidio in 2006. As he discovered the park’s historic forest, architecture, and vistas, he became fascinated with the blend of city and nature, people and place, buildings and wild open spaces.

Goldsworthy has explored this complexity through four art installations — SpireWood LineTree Fall, and Earth Wall — created here between 2008 and 2014. The Presidio is now home to the largest collection of his works on public view in North America.

Visit Goldsworthy’s installations individually or see them all while enjoying a three-mile hiking loop along the Presidio.
