Presidio of San Francisco (November 16, 2004) — Plans to rehabilitate one of the stately, red-bricked 40,000 square foot Montgomery Street barracks for a museum that features the history of animation through the eyes of Walt Disney will be outlined at 5:30 p.m. November 17 at 104 Montgomery Street on the Main Post.
The Walt Disney Family Foundation, which currently maintains a small biographical archive in the Presidio, is currently negotiating with the Presidio Trust to extensively rehabilitate one of the barracks.
Representatives from the Foundation will present a proposal for a museum and learning center. The proposal includes a rear addition to facilitate circulation and museum programs.
