Presidio Trust Board of Directors updates board leadership.
San Francisco, CA (April 16, 2019) – The Presidio Trust Board of Directors elected William Ellison Grayson, Esq. as Board Chair, replacing John W. Keker whose term as Chair has ended. Marie Louise Hurabiell, Esq. will assume the role of Board Vice Chair replacing Mr. Grayson, both effective on April 24, 2019.
Says Mr. Grayson, “I am honored to assume leadership of the Presidio Trust Board of Directors. It is an exciting time for the Trust as we continue to steward this incredible national park and bring to life important projects like the opening of the Presidio Theatre and create new parklands at the Tunnel Tops.”
Mr. Grayson was appointed to the seven-member board in May of 2017. He is the National Director – Family Offices at Bernstein Private Wealth Management in San Francisco. Previously, he was a senior executive at financial service firms, including J.P. Morgan and Montgomery Securities, and practiced law for ten years in law firm, corporate and government settings. Mr. Grayson also has history in public service, including the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships and as the Principal Deputy General Counsel of the Army in Washington, D.C. While at the Pentagon, he oversaw the Army’s 2,700 civilian and military lawyers and focused on regulatory law, mergers and acquisitions, and Army base realignments, including the Presidio.
A San Francisco native, Mr. Grayson holds a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, a B.A. from U.C. Santa Barbara, and graduated from San Francisco’s St. Ignatius College Preparatory. He has served on the boards of the Bay Area Discovery Museum, U.C. Berkeley’s Institute of Governmental Studies, the University of Hawaii Foundation, and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, a part of the Smithsonian Institution.
Ms. Hurabiell was appointed to the board in March of 2018. She is an eighth generation San Franciscan, and a founder and board member of Ellipsis Health, Inc., a technology company using speech analytics to gauge the behavioral health of patients in real-time. Says Ms. Hurabiell, “I am excited to step into this new role and expand my service to the Presidio as the park continues to evolve into a destination that truly welcomes everyone.”
Both Ms. Hurabiell and Mr. Grayson were active in the opening of the new Lodge at the Presidio in June 2018, and the process to consider proposals for the rehabilitation of Fort Winfield Scott.
The Presidio Trust is a federal agency that manages the Presidio of San Francisco, a national park at the heart of the 82,000-acre Golden Gate National Recreation Area. In partnership with the National Park Service and the non-profit Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the Presidio Trust brings alive the park’s historic, natural, and recreational assets for the inspiration, education, health, and enjoyment of all people at no cost to taxpayers.
