Hotels open back up in accordance with City health rules.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – SEPTEMBER 15, 2020 – In accordance with the City of San Francisco, the historic Inn at the Presidio and the Lodge at the Presidio are now open for leisure travel after being closed for six months. In this time when people are longing for relaxation and comfort, the hotels offer the perfect escape to rediscover, recharge, and reconnect with the world.
“We are so excited to reopen and welcome guests to the Inn and Lodge,” says Terry Haney, Managing Director, Presidio Lodging. “Our properties are specifically designed to offer the tranquility and peace of mind that people are yearning for, whether it’s unwinding on the porch in a rocking chair, taking a stroll along the beach, or exploring one of the many nearby trails.”
Located in the Presidio, a national park along the coast of Northern California, both hotels are surrounded by the healing properties of nature, which are known to contribute to physical and mental well-being. Visitors can explore nearly 1,500 acres of open space with enchanting forests, 24 miles of hiking, 25 miles of biking trails, beautiful beaches, and an 18-hole golf course, all the while taking in breathtaking vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge.
The 42-room Lodge at the Presidio is the closest hotel in San Francisco to the Golden Gate Bridge, featuring unparalleled views of the bridge, San Francisco Bay, and the city skyline. Its central location on the seven-acre Main Post public greens is the perfect jumping off point for active travelers seeking to easily explore the Presidio’s recreational areas. There are a variety of room types, from king and queen-bedded rooms ideal for couples and solo travelers to the 830 sq. ft. Family Suite with two queen beds and an adjacent living area with a sofa sleeper that can accommodate up to six people.
An intimate 26-room retreat, the Inn at the Presidio is perfect for those seeking a quiet refuge. Nestled in a secluded area tucked away off the Main Post, there is a secluded wooded walking trail accessible just out the back door. The Inn’s nearby Funston House annex offers an intimate guest experience in a renovated historic officer’s home just 30 yards from the main building. This beautiful Victorian-style house is comprised of four guestrooms, a living room, and dining room and can be rented in its entirety or as individual rooms.
Guests can enjoy complimentary continental breakfast and evening wine and cheese (both delivered in-room), a main living room with a fireplace, an expansive front porch with rocking chairs, and an outdoor patio with a cozy firepit. Guestrooms feature expansive windows that open widely to allow fresh coastal air, plush mattresses, minibars, robes and slippers, EO bath amenities, and more.
Extraordinary measures for safety and cleanliness are in place at the properties in accordance with the CDC guidelines and both have received the “Clean and Safe Certification” from the California Hotel & Lodging Association. Comprehensive cleaning and physical distancing protocols including contactless check in are in place, along with rigorous procedures for preparing and serving food and beverages.
