Announced in conjunction with Off the Grid.

What: Off the Grid, California’s most prolific network of street food markets is excited to announce another incarnation of their notable mobile vending events: “Off the Grid: Twilight at the Presidio,” launches Wednesday October 2, 2013 in partnership with the Presidio Trust, an innovation in government stewarding a treasured San Francisco place. Off the Grid and the Presidio Trust have been partnering on the popular “Picnics at the Presidio,” occurring on the Main Post from April through October. Twilight at the Presidio is a free event and will occur every Wednesday evening for the month of October at the Main Post Lawn in the Presidio. At Twilight at the Presidio, guests can celebrate early evening in the Presidio in a dynamic and immersive manner – complete with lantern-lit dining cabanas, cabana-side cocktail service, fire pits, and live music.

In a departure from the usual Off the Grid footprint, street food will be served tapas-style for enjoyment either fireside or in private dining cabanas. Bar service will be onsite and delivered via waited service to cabanas and fire pits for both cocktails and mocktails. In addition, live music will be played to encourage the campfire feel of the evening. Off the Grid: Twilight at the Presidio aims to be the very best way to finish a Wednesday evening in the bay. The October 2, 2013 launch will feature a 4-5 vendor lineup and includes trucks like: El Sur, Edgewater, Little Green Cyclo, and Red Sauce Meatballs.

Off the Grid began in June 2010 with the simple idea that grouping Street Food vendors together would create an experience that would allow neighbors to connect with friends, and families to reconnect with each other. Since then, Off the Grid has worked hard to develop markets that are located in urban cores of cities, and that utilize spaces that are not easily activated effectively throughout the day. Currently, Off the Grid operates 24 weekly markets in the greater Bay Area, and works with nearly 180+ vendors weekly. At its core, Off the Grid believes in the power of a shared food experience to connect communities.

The Presidio Trust is a distinctive federal agency created to save the Presidio of San Francisco, a historic Army base, and transform it for a new national purpose. Since 1998, the Trust has worked to catalyze ideas, partners, and resources from all sectors to save the Presidio as a public place. Today, the Presidio is a new kind of national park. It provides the public with inspiring landscapes, historic structures renewed for contemporary uses, and enriching programs and events. It is home to a vibrant community of people who work and live on its grounds. It operates without taxpayer dollars.
