Presidio Building 937 Venue

Located at Crissy Field, this building can host more than 400 guests for events, dinner, and more.

Built in 1921 as an aircraft hangar, Building 937 is now a dynamic space for unique events.

Building 937 offers a historic steel frame structure, 15,000 square feet of indoor space, and can host up to 400 seated dinner guests. The space can also be used for staging race events, film stage sets, fundraisers, and more.

The Presidio Trust issues Special Use Permits for building use in the Presidio’s interior lands, which encompass 80% of the park (Area B – see map below). All building uses, are as-is and require use of a Special Use Permit. All permits require the coordination of our Special Events Permit Office, with a minimum of 15 business days’ notice prior to the event date.

Event Guidelines

All permitted events that will serve, provide, or sell alcohol are required to use a company with full-service commercial liquor liability insurance. Self-serve alcohol is not permitted.

No buildings, trees, shrubs or other plant material may be trimmed, pruned, altered, attached to, penetrated and/or removed without express permission.

Music and amplified sound are allowed inside only, with restrictions. Sound must conclude by 11:30 p.m. Amplified sound, live or recorded, must be maintained at levels that do not disturb other people or wildlife.

Daily; excluding federal holidays and some holiday weekends. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. Rental fees include twenty-four (24) hours of use inclusive of set-up and breakdown. All events must conclude by midnight. No exceptions.

All permitted events that will serve or provide food are required to use a professional caterer and/or food trucks and food carts. Caterers, food trucks and food carts must provide commercial liability insurance. You may NOT bring your own food (pot luck) or beverages.

Client is responsible for removal of all trash. Events larger than 300 people must hire an approved waste removal company. Events must comply with the Presidio Trust’s Requirements for Sustainable Events.

All décor and tenting requires prior approval. Additional permits may apply.  

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Permits are required for any drone flight that takes off and lands within Area B of the Presidio. See Drone Permits for more information.

US Park Police may be required for event monitoring or traffic control. Additional fees apply. Security guards may be hired with pre-approval.

The primary purpose of the park is to serve the public. If permission is granted to temporarily exclude the public from certain areas for production purposes, clients must use the utmost courtesy in doing so.

Building fees are due upon signing a Special Use Permit. Remaining fees are due 60 days prior to the event date. Building fees are non-refundable. Security deposits are refundable, range between $1,000.00-$3,000.00, and are required for all events. Additional fees may apply, such as tenting, staffing, equipment, and fire code permits. All fees must be paid in advance of the event.

Generation of mineral oil-based smoke, mist or fog is not allowed. Permission to use water-based fogging equipment will be considered upon request.

Bouncy houses and large inflatables are not permitted in the Presidio. Carnival activities and games are allowed (with restrictions) and must be approved in advance

All events will be required to provide a Certificate of Insurance in an amount not less than One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) per each occurrence, and naming the Presidio Trust as additionally insured. Event insurance policies may be purchased through the Presidio Trust’s designated insurance company.

No indoor cooking of any kind is permitted. Fire code permit(s) required for outdoor cooking.

Limited onsite paid parking available. Parking fees vary by day. Reserved parking is available for a fee. Events over 300 people require a transportation plan. We strongly encourage public transit, ridesharing and the free Presidio GO Shuttle.

All public events and festivals including beer/wine/beverage events must conclude by 6:00 p.m. Requests for additional hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Must be pre-approved by the Presidio Trust.

No restrooms on site. Clients must bring portable restrooms for duration of use. 

All signage on Presidio streets and buildings is the exclusive domain of the Presidio Trust. No signage may be placed anywhere in the park without prior approval.

No staking allowed in the Presidio. If permission is granted to install tents, equipment, sets, props, etc., they must be secured by sandbags, water barrels or some other approved manner. Nothing may be attached or tied down to any structure, park bench, trees etc. 

Structures, sets or other props are allowed with permission.

Allowed with an approved tenting permit from the Presidio Trust Fire Marshal. Additional fees apply and subject to approval and review.

There are no cables attached to the building, this includes internet connection, fiber or phone lines. Trash removal, restrooms and water are not available. Electrical/fire alarms and general building needs will be set-up as a utility fee from the Presidio Trust depending on length of use.

Production vehicles must be parked in legal parking stalls and pay-to-park. Clients may not prohibit or obstruct vehicular or public access to park streets and roads without prior approval.
