Stop by the Presidio Field Station to pick up your very own Presidio Adventure Passport! Each free passport kit includes a field journal for writing notes, a deck of 18 illustrated GeoQuesting cards, a mini-pencil, and an illustrated “Adventures in the Presidio” map.
This new park experience is like a treasure hunt where you seek hidden boxes and messages placed in unique locations around the Presidio, each holding fun facts about park history and the natural world related to the spot where you find them. Adventure awaits for explorers of all ages!
Winter Fun
Winter is here, which means it’s the perfect time to explore the Presidio. Search for and record:
- The more than 100 kinds of mushrooms sprouting around the park
- The California state slug, the beloved banana slug
- Pacific Chorus frogs – you’ll hear them singing at Mountain Lake, the footbridge along Lovers Lane Trail at MacArthur Meadow, and El Polin Spring
- Interested in a Self-Guided Adventure in the Presidio? Look for a hidden winter “Field Note” and a “Geocache” on either end of the Crissy Field Marsh footbridge.
