Presidio Adventure Passport
Adventure awaits for explorers of all ages!
Stop by the Presidio Field Station to pick up your very own Presidio Adventure Passport kit. Each free kit includes a passport/field journal, a deck of 18 illustrated GeoQuesting cards, a mini-pencil, and an illustrated “Adventures in the Presidio” map.
Use this new kit to enjoy treasure hunts in the park, where you seek hidden boxes and messages placed in unique locations around the Presidio, each holding fun facts about park history and the natural world related to the spot where you find them. Adventure awaits!
Spring Fun
Spring is here, which means it’s the perfect time to explore the Presidio. Search for and record:
- Fledging Bird Chicks – From tiny hummingbirds to great horned owls more than 60 species of birds nest in the Presidio.
- Wildflowers – Most of the Presidio’s flowering plants bloom in the springtime.
- Butterflies – There are 35 species of butterflies that live in the Presidio and El Polín Spring and Lobos Creek Valley Trail are the park’s butterfly hotspots.
- Check out the spring investigation tables at the Presidio’s Field Station: Archaeology, Anthecology (study of insect pollinators), Chelionology (study of turtles), and Eco-Poetry!
New Presidio Adventure Passport Stamps and Stickers
This spring we have new stamps and stickers available for your passport, including one featuring artwork by local coyote expert, Tali Caspi. The stamps and stickers are at the Field Station’s passport table
Gear Up for Outdoor Adventures
The Field Station is also a kind of base camp where you can go to borrow grab-and-go gear that can add value to your passport-based exploration of the park. Stop by to pick up Explorer Backpacks, binoculars, maps, and other tools you can use on your spring adventure.
