Other Bay Area Camping Resources

Rob Hill is a group campground with four campsites that can accommodate up to 30 people each. No RV camping is allowed. If Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio is unavailable or doesn’t fit your needs, there are other campgrounds in the Bay Area, as well as RV sites.

To the North

  • Golden Gate National Recreation Area: For walk-in camping at Kirby Cove, call (877) 444-6777 or visit Recreation.gov. For walk-in camping at Bicentennial Campground, Hawk Campground, and Haypress Campground, call the Marin Headlands Visitor Center at (415) 331-1540.
  • Point Reyes National Seashore: For hike-in camping at Wildcat, Glen, Coast, or Sky Camps or for boat-in camping in Tomales Bay, call (877) 444-6777 or visit Recreation.gov.
  •  Mount Tamalpais State Park: Walk-in tent sites, cabins, horse camp, and group sites are available. Visit parks.ca.gov or call the Pantoll Ranger Station at (415) 388-2070.
  • Angel Island State Park: Hike-in and boat-in camping are available. Visit parks.ca.gov or call (415) 435-5390.
  • KOA in Petaluma: To make a reservation, call (800) 562-1233 or visit koa.com.
  • Marin RV Park: To make a reservation, call (415) 461-5199 or visit marinrvpark.com.
  • Golden Gate Mobile and RV Park: To make a reservation, call (415) 924-0683 or visit goldengatetrailerpark.com.

To the South

  • Sunrise Point Campground in Candlestick Point State Recreation Area: Hike, bike, or boat in sites are available. Call (415) 671-0145 or visit parks.ca.gov.
  • San Mateo County Parks: RV sites and tent camping are available. Call the Reservations Desk at (650) 363-4021 between Monday and Thursday, 8 am to 5 pm, or visit smcgov.org.
  • San Francisco RV Resort: Call (650) 355-7093 or visit sanfranciscorvresort.com.
  • Candlestick RV Park: Call (800) 888-2267 or (415) 822-2299 or visit sanfranciscorvpark.com.
  • Treasure Island RV Park: To make a reservation, visit treasureislandrvpark.com.

In the East Bay

  • East Bay Regional Park District: Tent camping, cabins, horse camps, and group sites are available. Call (888) 327-2757 for reservations or visit ebparks.org.
Camping at Rob Hill
  • Open for camping between April 1 – October 31
  • Day use reservations are not accepted; overnight only
  • Advanced reservations available on a six-month rolling basis via Recreation.gov
  • Reservations begin at 12 p.m. the day of check-in; end at 11 a.m. the day of check-out.
