Join us on Saturday, December 7 to kick-off this year’s planting season at the new North Dune restoration area. The North Dune project will convert a four-acre stand of dying non-native Monterey pines to native sand dune habitat. This new habitat is suitable for our rare dune annual plants including the endangered San Francisco lessingia.
We have over 3,500 seedlings that need to be planted at North Dune and thousands more to be planted at other restoration areas across the Presidio this season. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required
Learn about the Volunteer Agreement Form, what to bring, and opportunities for groups on our Presidio Habitat and Forest Stewards page.
