Opera Parallèle’s Doubt at Presidio Theatre

Opera Parallèle returns to Presidio Theatre with the world premiere of a reimagined Doubt, adapted from John Patrick Shanley’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play and Oscar-nominated film. Featuring a score by Douglas J. Cuomo and conceived by Brian Staufenbiel, this contemporary opera explores suspicion, morality, and power within a Catholic school through an intimate, character-driven lens. Conducted by Nicole Paiement, the production places the orchestra on stage within a church-inspired setting, drawing the audience into the drama as part of the “congregation” for a multi-sensory, immersive experience.
