What to Expect at This Event

Bold innovation and exceptional virtuosity take center stage at Presidio Theatre as New Century Chamber Orchestra, led by Music Director and Concertmaster Daniel Hope, presents an evening that bridges legacy and new creation. The program features premieres by acclaimed San Francisco composers Jake Heggie and Nathaniel Stookey, written in honor of the ensemble’s spirit and future.

Also featured is Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges’ vibrant Violin Concerto in A Major, restoring a long-overlooked voice to prominence, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s luminous Souvenir de Florence, a sweeping finale filled with melodic richness. Together, these works reflect the many ways music can illuminate, connecting past brilliance with new possibilities.
