MLK Day with the Presidio Nursery

Join us at the Presidio Nursery for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day volunteer event. Volunteer activities vary throughout the seasons and include seed collection, seed cleaning, transplanting into pots, pruning, weeding in pots, pot washing, maintaining the greenhouses, care of our Habitat Demonstration Garden, and sometimes handy or artistic projects. The Presidio Nursery is accessible, usually has a diversity of projects to suit varying desires for active work, and welcomes people of all backgrounds, skills, and abilities. What to bring:  

• A completed Presidio Trust Volunteer Agreement (download  English, Spanish, Chinese)   

• Clothes that can get dirty (long pants and closed-toe shoes required)  

• Extra layers and rain gear if necessary  

• Water bottle  

• Sunscreen   

Volunteering as a Group

Youth Participation  

If you’re looking for a free family event near you, Habitat Stewards of all ages are welcome at the Presidio! Volunteers under the age of 18 must have the parental consent section of the registration form signed by a parent/legal guardian or they will not be allowed to participate.
