What to Expect at This Event 

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs hosts the 157th annual Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony at the San Francisco National Cemetery in the Presidio, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. After the ceremony, the Interfaith Center will hold a meditative organ concert next to the cemetery at the Presidio Chapel starting at 12:15 p.m. 

 

Memorial Day is a day of reflection and remembrance, acknowledging the sacrifices made in defense of the United States of America. This event honors the men and women who died while serving in the United States military. It’s the largest Memorial Day commemoration in the Bay Area, drawing thousands of attendees. The formal program includes speakers, a 24-gun salute, and musical performances.  

 

Admission is free and all are welcome.
