Experience Black Ball: The Negro Leagues and the Bluesan original suite by acclaimed bassist and composer Marcus Shelbyat the Presidio Theatre’s first Big Band Sunday. Performed by Shelby’s 15-piece Orchestra, the show celebrates the history of Black baseball with music, video, theatrics, singers, dancers, and clowns. Blending blues, ballads, and swing, the performance honors legends like Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson, and Willie Mays while capturing the rhythm of the game. Featuring special guests Martin Luther McCoy and Paige Mayes, this unforgettable performance brings a vital piece of American history to life through jazz.
