Join a group at the Rob Hill Campground and head out on a less than 2 miles roundtrip walk, stopping along the way to learn and explore.
This event will be grounded in curiosity, so bring a sense of wonder and be open to tuning into nature with all your senses. Local naturalists will join the walk to provide short, interactive talks about the incredible world of fungi and help attendees learn how to identify fungi, learn how the mycelium network works, and hear about the different indigenous and medicinal uses of fungi. They’ll also share a short history of foraging. We’ll search for fungi specimens throughout the walk, too!
People of all ages and all skill levels (especially beginners) are welcome. You’ll learn how to use tools to inspect our fungi findings, like macro and hand lenses (which will be provided). You’re more than welcome to bring your lunch and hang out and discuss fungi after the event.
Additional Info
There will be a water jug for your water bottles.
Bring layers, sunscreen/sun protection, and your water bottle with you. Anything beyond light rain will cancel the event.
We look forward to discovering and exploring with you!
