Fogo Na Roupa Carnaval Parade Rehearsal

In preparation for San Francisco’s Annual Carnaval in the Mission District, Fogo Na Roupa Grupo Carnavalesco will be practicing with their intergenerational contingent on Sunday, May 10 and Sunday, May 17 in the Presidio.   

Come see the reigning Grand Champions of Carnaval SF and hear the blazing sounds of the “Bateria” – the drum ensemble consisting of traditional Brazilian parade drums – and enjoy being mesmerized by the movements of the dancers who’ll showcase their new choreographies.   

Foga Na Roupa will start at the intersection of Sal Street and Keyes Avenue. Keyes Avenue, Canby Street, and Pena Street will be closed and Mesa Street will experience intermittent closures throughout the day. See the map below for the route.   

The public is invited to come by and enjoy the free performances.
