What to Expect at This Event
Come out to the park on Saturday, February 21, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for an afternoon of litter removal at Quartermaster Reach Marsh. Opened in 2020, the restored marsh stands as a major milestone in the 25-year revitalization of the Tennessee Hollow Watershed and the Presidio’s northern waterfront. In the years since its opening, Quartermaster Reach Marsh has become an important habitat for birds, aquatic animals, and 40 species of saltmarsh and dune plants. Unfortunately, litter from the surrounding roadways tends to accumulate in the marsh, threatening the birds and other animals that call the marsh home. Registration is required on the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy volunteer website. The specific meeting location will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
