Presidio Trust Contingency Plan

Presidio Trust Contingency Plan in the Event of a Lapse in Annual Appropriations

The Presidio Trust (Trust), is a wholly owned government corporation established in 1996 pursuant to the Presidio Trust Act (16 U.S.C. §460bb appendix) to administer the Presidio of San Francisco, a former military base and a National Historic Landmark district, “through an innovative public/private partnership that minimizes cost to the United States Treasury and makes efficient use of private sector resources.”

The Presidio Trust Act provides that:

“Notwithstanding section 1341 of title 31 of the United States Code, all proceeds and other revenues received by the Trust shall be retained by the Trust.  Those proceeds shall be available, without further appropriation, to the Trust for the administration, preservation, restoration, operation and maintenance, improvement, repair and related expenses incurred with respect to Presidio properties under its administrative jurisdiction.”

Based on the foregoing, the Presidio Trust will continue its current operations with full staffing using revenues that it generates through its administration and operation of the Presidio of San Francisco.
