The Presidio Trust is seeking an HR & Payroll Coordinator to skillfully coordinate and support a wide range of HR functions with a primary focus on payroll, personnel records administration and processing, benefits administration, and workers’ compensation coordination.

This is a full-time position with benefits and a starting pay range of $60,911 to $71,574. The starting base salary is dependent on the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Our target start timing is the beginning of January 2024.

Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate and support a wide variety of human resources functions with a primary focus in the following areas:  
  • Payroll and Personnel – Utilize automated systems to process payroll and personnel actions, respond to employee verification inquiries, assist with records administration, act as backup Timekeeper, assist employees with systems access and inquiries, provide data for organizational charts, run employee data reports, and assist with other payroll and personnel administrative tasks 
  • Benefits – Help coordinate benefits open season, coordinate the commuter benefits program, process forms, provide assistance with new employee benefits orientations, assist with onboarding and offboarding benefits forms and materials, assist with the leave share program, coordinate retirement plaques, help answer employee benefits and leave questions, and assist with other benefits administrative tasks
  • Workers’ Compensation – Assist with injury and illness response protocols, handle intake, provide instructions to initiate the workers’ compensation process, assist employees with the use of the electronic filing system and filling out the appropriate forms, prepare monthly workers compensation claims data reports, attend Safety Committee meetings, and assist with other workers’ compensation administrative tasks 
  • Provide backup support in the areas of recruitment and hiring, onboarding and offboarding, and learning and employee engagement 
  • Document procedures and departmental processes  
  • Assist with administrative tasks including but not limited to distributing mail, facilitating meetings, monitoring & reviewing forms, scanning, shredding, updating websites and bulletin boards, assisting with audit requests, organizing files and maintaining records, and monitoring email inboxes 
  • Provide effective, timely and thorough customer service and continuously seek to improve the quality of service by implementing best practices identified by data analysis and customer feedback. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Required Qualifications 

  • Equivalent of two (2) year college or technical school; OR  
  • A minimum of 2 years of human resources and payroll related experience  
  • Effective collaboration, written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple, competing tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Track record of utilizing technology and/or increasing your own technology skills to make work more efficient, user-friendly and easier to run and maintain 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams 
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence and cultural humility; interest and ability to connect with and engage a diversity of people by showing empathy and sensitivity to their individual perspectives and needs 
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion; ability to keep sensitive information confidential 
  • Optimistic and positive attitude with a demonstrated deep commitment to exceptional customer service 
  • Exercises sound judgment and exhibits strong decision-making and problem solving skills

Background & Driver’s License Investigation and Review 

The Presidio Trust has identified this position as subject to a standard employment background investigation which shall consist of a review of applicable county, state and Federal criminal and civil records, state bankruptcy indexes, driver’s license, and a credit report. An individual’s granting of a background investigation and resulting report is voluntary, however, employment is contingent upon the successful completion of the investigation. The Trust may refuse to hire an individual, rescind an offer of employment, or review and terminate the employment of a current employee who does not successfully complete a background investigation.
